These Georgia amethysts have a very distinctive bright purple glow to them; put them under a halogen and they look almost neon. This is a cluster of several intergrown crystals, with glassy luster. Good American amethysts have always commanded a premium compared to those from the prodigious amethyst localities around the world; they are just not common at all. Ex. Feist Collection.
