Amethyst scepter (historic locale) on Smoky Quartz
This is a small cabinet-sized display specimen of American-origin amethyst with an absolutely unique combination of color and shape. Anybody who knows historic American specimens and the old books will recognize it at once, as a ohndorf piece. This old mine dates back to the early 1900s, and was famous at the time. Rock Currier collection #5235, which means he got it in the 1980s, and then in the Scott Rudolph collection as well. This is, for the size, phenomenal. For any collector of USA rarities, it is a rare opportunity.
