A rather large crystal for this old Utah locality, here is a complete spessartine garnet measuring in at 4 cm across - actually a shocking size, and probably a very old specimen as well. It came from the AMN (American Museum, New York City) through Larry Conklin, to Eugene Carmichael. Larry then got it back and kept it in his private collection for some years. He describes it on his label as "a huge, brilliant, loose crystal." Significant for the locality.
