An excellent specimen containing large, coarse, royal blue subhedral crystal clusters of both Linarite and Caledonite from this old California locality. Caledonite is a rare lead copper sulfate-carbonate and Linarite a lead copper sulphate. The Cerro Gordo Mine is an important, yet little known, locality for both species. The prominent linarite flat-laying crystals are blocky, pseudo-orthorhombic, and exhibit nice adamantine luster - super intense color! The specimen is accented by several small clusters of blue-green Caledonite on the bottom and one large, splendid, lustrous, striated crystal of caledonite to 1 cm on the right side in direct association with diaboleite, leadhillite and malachite. Malachite is present as bright green, dull, velvety patches on the specimen covering leadhillite. A very classic suite of these rare secondary carbonate-sulfate minerals from this locality. Classic, old California material. Ex Bob Reynolds collection, and in all likelihood self collected by him as he visited the site many times.
