Some of the finest specimens of this species come from Tsumeb. This is a sharp thumbnail specimen of Olivenite that is comprised of a mounded, intergrown groups of divergent, super dark emerald green, very lustrous crystals to 1cm that are in perfect condition. The stunning Olivenites display green internal reflections when illuminated! The reverse side shows the radial divergent character of the Olivenite in cross-section. Several, small, 1.5 to 4mm groups of tiny, bright, olive green Gartrellite are present around the basal periphery of the piece for added contrast and interest. Gartrellite is lead-copper-ferric iron arsenate hydrate compared to Olivenite which is copper arsenate with hydroxyl. A label from Marshall Sussman's collection is included with a small tag adhered to the back which states "Olivenite, W. 35th Level, Tsumeb, Namibia."
