A striking, highly unusual, polychrome tourmaline from the Pederniera Mine. The front of this very fine, glassy and lustrous piece is a classic, Pederneira polychrome tourmaline. The well-striated body is a pleasing sea-foam-green, grading up to a beautiful, gemmy, teal-blue at the termination. The glassy termination, itself, is purple. The back of the piece is the surprise. Nearly all of the tourmaline has been etched away, leaving a curved hollow. Only the termination area is left and is partially etched. Needles of tourmaline are seen hanging down. Fascinating material from this famous locale.
