beautiful, neon-pink and lustrous large sapphire crystal from Vietnam. The matrix includes plates of well-crystallized fuchsite on the back, a very rare green mica and vesuvianite. Though with a few rough edges and one termination etched, it is a remarkable example of this very unusual material. I still do not understand why it is pink sapphire and not ruby per se, but so the gem guys tell me. 4.8 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm
