Exemplary, old-time Azurite from the famous Tsumeb Mine in Namibia, caught exactly halfway in the act of changing (pseudomorphing) from azurite into malachite! The photos really tell you all you need to know about this very fine specimen, from the great luster, color, and form of the Azurite to the wonderful and eye-catching, almost iridescent, Malachite. There is even some radial growth to a portion of the Malachite replacement, a phenomenon really almost unique to this mine which adds even more to the already choice aesthetics of this piece. Dramatic, large, sharp, and largely complete (a few dings and contacts are forgiven, as it is 70-100 years old), this is a really impressive specimen (especially for the price range).
