Outstanding Azurite and Malachite combination piece from Bisbee Arizona, circa 1900! The color and luster on the Azurite blades are terrific, with the Azurite crystals glowing that coveted electric-blue even under moderate light. The blades are almost stacked in parallel-growth clusters, and give the impression of a rosette in one part. The Azurites, which are marching along the top of the specimen, are complemented nicely by light-green balls of Malachite which decorate the rest of the matrix. High quality, and choice aesthetics, for this excellent thumbnail. Formerly in the collections of the Santa Barbara Museum and Ed Harrison. with Museum label, from a trade long ago. Thumbnail examples of this highly desirable USA classics are few and hard to find, especially if you require modern high standards to thumbnails. They simply were not saved, back then. It was not the style. This is over 100 years old and looks like it was mined yesterday. it is a superb example of what it is, and balanced as a competitive display specimen for any thumbnail exhibit case.
