These gorgeous Hubnerite and Quartz on Fluorite combination pieces were recovered from this classic Peruvian locality well over a decade ago and are scarce collectors specimens today, known for the unusual combination. At least a dozen dark black Hubnerite crystals along with numerous, water-clear Quartz crystals are attractively set on a sculptural matrix of pink Fluorite crystals on this highly aesthetic piece. The sharp Hubnerites reach 3.3 cm in length, to 2.5 cm (an inch!) in width and are 3 to 8 mm in thickness as they cascade through a myriad of glassy, gem clear Quartz crystals- and all of them just glisten and sparkle! The transparent to translucent pink Fluorite crystals are complexly formed with stepped growth features that are cubic in shape, but result in an overall octahedral shape. Their complex growth patterns causes them to scintillate. This colorful combination piece has plenty of textural and color contrast, extremely three-dimensional. It has excellent presentation qualities and is well balanced. This is almost impossible to find today, and we have not seen another in many years.
