Ethiopian Amazonites, for both color and luster, give the classics from Colorado real competition for "king" of the Amazonite hill. The turquoise color is rich and very appealing, when they are at their best. This one, with a bit of attached matrix (probably Feldspar) to add a nice accent, is sharply twinned (which would be incredibly unusual for any Colorado specimen). The piece is aesthetic, and displays the Mannebach twinning beautifully.
