This remarkable specimen features an incredibly large babingtonite crystal to 3.5 x 2.1 x 1.5 cm, on pale yellowish datolite over green prehnite. This is a MAJOR specimen from a classic and long-defunct locality. It is a very important specimen that was illustrated in the Barlow Collection book, despite it being a "black ugly" to some. I obtained the piece in 1998 and trimmed it to remove the damaged crystals above the major crystal, leaving a more perfect and displayable miniature, as shown. I sold it, and just got it back in a collection purchase only recently - 7 years later. Illustrated in The John Barlow Mineral Collection, page 152.
