Quartz, Quartz (Var: Amethyst)
A bizarre Georgia quartz specimen, with a large quartz crystal that has somehow grown an amethyst reverse scepter on a broken-off shard at its tip! The large quartz crystal broke off in the pocket, and the amethyst formed later - both as this scepter, and also in a complexly-crystallized patch at the other end of the quartz. The little scepter has terminations at both ends. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
