Cordierite from this locality sets the standard for the species. Unlike the ugly material from most places, it is actually pretty here - sometimes. It has a waxy brown shoe-polish look to the surface o nthe best specimens, such as this one. This was collected by Bob Whitmore in the 1970s and is a very aesthetic cluster with a bit of attached matrix.
