A sharp, stunning gem crystal of scapolite with above average, excellent color. Most of these crystals, although many were found over the years, have only a straw yellow color and moderate luster. This has both a strong golden-yellow color (more like a heliodor than a scapolite) AND a glassy luster. It is a glowing gem crystal when on display in a case and far better than the common sorts from these finds. It is 18.5 grams. An old specimen from the 1990s, long in the collection of Dr. Vasco Trancoso.
