An aesthetic and beautiful, old-time specimen of highly lustrous and striated, black manganite crystals to 2.3 cm nicely arranged on white Baryte matrix from the famous Ilfeld region of the Harz Mountains, Germany. The major, central crystals are undamaged and the broken crystals on the near-right of the piece are certainly not dectracting from this fine, classic specimen. these best of species manganites were found in the mid-1880s as you can read in gem and crystal treasures by peter bancroft. never again after! 5.2 x 3.6 x 3.0 cm
