Here is a beautiful blue Fluorite from the Denton Mine in the Southern Illinois Fluorspar District. There are several striking, rich medium blue, largely transparent Fluorites from 2 to 5.7 cm across that comprise this cluster. All of the cube faces exhibit a satiny luster that slightly obscures their transparency, however, it is very apparent that light is easily transmitted through the crystals. Low profile, geometric growth hillocks grace some of the broad cube faces for added texture and aesthetics. A thin, barely discernible phantom purple rim can be seen on some of the edges. Very minor restoration is noted on some corners to hide minor dings or wear, and is impossible to see by eye.It is an absolutely gorgeous piece from the now closed Denton Mine that was once a prolific specimen producer and these beautiful blues were not common from here! From the Chet Lemanski fluorite collection.
