A classic and hard-to-find Amethyst specimen from the Capurru Quarry in Italy. The piece features several sharp, rather lustrous, gemmy, prismatic, lavender colored Amethyst crystals on snow white Quartz on matrix. I am told by an Italian friend that the best Amethyst crystals from Italy are found at this quarry. There are some small bright red inclusions in the Amethyst crystals and specks on the surface of the specimen of Hematite which gives a nice touch to the piece.
