German magnetite, in good form, is something I simply had never seen in a good specimen for sale. This remarkable, cabinet-sized specimen comes from the famed old quarries at Callenberg, which also produced crocoite (rarely). Here, we have a large display face with dozens of sharp magnetites, to 1 cm in size, on the face. Some of the oldest magnetite crystals known to science probably came from this locality.
