This is a now very rare Arizona old-timer: a thick layer of translucent, botryiodal quartz on deep robins-egg blue chrysocolla, which in turn is on underlying malachite. The covering of silky quartz appears almost as if added to dress up the chrysocolla underneath, giving it the appearance of a translucent smithsonite. The color is glorious!
