A classic, old-time pseudomorph specimen from the Ilfeld deposit of Germany. The front of the piece features a dramatic diverging spray of lustrous, metallic-gray manganite after sharp pyrolusite blades set in contrasting, white baryte. The pseudomorphs are in a jackstraw pattern on the back of the piece. These old pieces came out in about 1886-1888 (per Bancroft's book) .
