A very dramatic oldstyle Bisbee malachite specimen with an almost wax-like luster and texture to the surface. This style is very rare, and old. You seldom see it preserved in such large plates! In person, as well, this is quite distinct from anything contemporary coming out of Africa. A large example of this habit, from turn-of-the-1900s mining at this important US locale.
