Garnet Group
A 4.5 cm, wine-red garnet crowns this very rare locality specimen. Jacumba garnets are usually pretty dull and earthy. This is the best one I know of, long held jointly in both the garnet and San Diego collections of Bill Larson. The garnets are on contrasting matrix, and the overall aspect is like no other locality for large garnet crystals on matrix.
