On a bed of colorful massive calcite sits a beautiful, equant, doubly terminated apatite crystal with the most exquisite deep blue-green color. The very glassy luster, unusually good transparency, color and sheer size of this apatite help make this a splendid mineral specimen. The quality is the highest I have seen in a Russian apatite from this locality, for luster and gemminess. It is phenomenal for the color contrast and simple display beauty, as well as for the significance of the crystal.
