A classic, old-time and showy plate of stalactitic, botryoidal, rose-red rhodochrosite covering sulfide matrix from the famous Oppu Mine of Japan. Excellent material from this historic locality probably circa late 1800s or early 1900s. A couple of broken botryoids reveal the hollow cores of the stalactites. A neat feature. Ex. John Ydren Collection.
