A fine sphalerite specimen from the famous Denton Mine of Southern Illinois. Sharp, highly lustrous, jet-black sphalerite crystals to 1.9 cm are scattered on matrix. Most of the crystals are twinned. Some of the smaller sphalerites have "ruby jack" gemminess to them. Ex. Ross Lillie Collection (1983) .
