The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this Robert Fender cabinet specimen is an outstanding example. Mirror-bright, brass-yellow, intergrown octahedrons cover the sculptural, undulating matrix of massive pyrite. The largest crystal is 2.0 cm. The textbook form and intense luster are superb. Nearly pristine. Classic Huanzala material. Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 1980s.
