A fine mounded combination specimen from recent finds at a pegmatite in the foothills of the Andes of Argentina. Glassy, transparent smoky quartz crystals to 1.6 cm are nicely scattered amongst sharp, pastel-pink microcline crystals, some of which are Carlsbad twins. Tiny, colorless albite crystals are epitaxial on the microcline crystals. Limonite coats part of the backside of the mound. Highly representative combination material from this locale.
