Knappenwand Epidotes have been classics for centuries, and this fine old specimen upholds the tradition. The slender tabular crystals have a deep black-green color, excellent luster, and very fine terminations. There is one broken (smaller) crystal on the back, but that is a small price to pay on an such an old specimen when all the other crystals are in mint condition. It is a very RARE example on the market, from what once was the most classic and desired of all epidote localities. You just do not see them for sale any more and they only come up out of old collections. True, now epidote can be had from other locales, bigger and gemmier, but these remain tha standard, for good reason. 5 x 2.7 x 1 cm
