Hematite
This is a splendent, mammilliary, reddish-brown hematite specimen of classic style for the old English locales from the 1800s. But it is from Morocco. Besides being smaller than the old English specimens, it is more lustrous than most of the English hematites (even accounting for the fact that, as with all of these, one must assume they are lightly buffed in any case). Jack purchased this from an old collection in San Francisco, many years ago. Ex. Jack Halpern Collection.
