This is a whopper tourmaline crystal, of very dark teal color, from the Santa Rosa Mine in Brazil. It has the characteristic tiered termination, actually consisting of thousands of fibrous filaments - these tourmalines grow in this bizarre way, like hair-like filaments packed together. They then terminate at various levels. This big crystal is complete all the way around. It weighs an impressive 844 grams!
