Highly lustrous and translucent, this fine grossular garnet exhibits a beautiful deep cinnamon-red color, and comes from the ultimate East Coast classic locality in Vermont. These are said to date to the 1970s or early 1980s and are today treasured as classics of that era, although few enough were found and they remain generally locked up still in the collections of the people who bought them back in the day. This important single crystal is a full sized thumbnail, and said to come from the so-called "poster pocket" as a famous piece on a previous Tucson Show poster, now in the Larson collection. It has a shocking color, in person. It is undamaged. This is from the important East Coast locality suite of the Shields Flynn collection.
