Smoky Quartz with Garnet inclusions

This is a cute, lightly-frosted, textbook-shaped Quartz crystal with a few imperfections - however, the interesting aspect is the red-orange, equant 3mm Garnet crystal near the base. It may be Almandine or Spessartine in composition. The Smoky Quartz crystal is contacted around the bottom where it was in contact with other Quartz crystals and there is small, glassy ding at the termination in one area. Mark Mauthner photo.
