Two beautiful, gemmy and highly lustrous tabular cherry-red rhodochrosite crystals to 1.4 x 1.3 cm with stepped side faces and pyramidal terminations in a vug encrusted with manganite and tiny sparkly, gemmy and transparent rhodochrosite crystals from Uchucchacua, Peru. Tabular and stepped rhodo crystals of this variety are much more uncommon than the scalenohedrons one usually sees and the tiny rhodochrosite crystals nicely compliment the larger ones. Trivial bruises to the rhodochrosite crystal terminations do not detract from the overall quality of this specimen. 6.0 x 5.2 x 4.7 cm
