Dufrenite and beraunite are uncommon hydrated iron phosphates found as secondary minerals in bog iron deposits. A sculptural vug on both sides of the hematite ore is lined with a crust of light and dark olive green dufrenite. The small, patchy, rust-brown crusts on the lower part of the front are beraunite. This piece is from a very uncommon Alabama iron deposit. Old material. Ex. Robert Fender Collection.
