Baryte
Glassy, translucent, sharp baryte blades form an exceptionally rich and showy specimen from the famous Meikle Mine of Nevada. This aesthetic mounded specimen is composed entirely of baryte and is highlighted by the large, cockscomb crystal on one end and the hole in the center. Many of the barytes have a preferential overgrowth of tiny, sparkly calcite crystals, which is a very nice accent. Expertly collected, this excellent piece has very few broken crystals. According to their catalogue and label, the Stoudt's bought this piece at the Tucson Show in 2001 from Geoprime Resources, who handled much of these finds. Ex. Stoudt Collection.
