A dramatically formed cabinet pseudomorph of colemanite after a large inyoite crystal from Boron, California. The pseudomorph is shaped like a big, 3-dimensional "checkmark," when viewed at the proper angle and proudly rests on a clayey matrix. The pseudomorph and matrix surface are uniformly covered with lustrous, white, 3-4 mm, colemanite crystals. The major crystal is essentially pristine. Older material, as this piece is from the Margaret Gross Collection of Valley Center, California. This collection consisted mainly of 1950s-1980s material.
