Zunyite is a rare chlorinated silicate. This very rich and showy specimen is from the Type Locality - the Zuni Mine in the Silverton District of Colorado. Glassy, translucent, gray-tan, triangular crystals to 3 mm richly cover all sides of the nicely contrasting kaolinite-rich matrix. An old-time, classic specimen, nearly 100 years old or older and rarely available. This is an excellent example of this rare material. Ex. Mullane Collection.
