The vast majority of spessartine specimens from Tongbei have a carpet of tightly-massed crystals. Occasionally, however, you get these specimens with ISOLATED crystals, which have a special attractiveness. These are extremely gemmy and lustrous orange/red crystals, with some accenting hexagonal books of silvery muscovite.
