Gaspeite is a rare nickel, magnesium, iron carbonate. It seldom crystallizes. This is a rich and showy, two-sided specimen featuring striking, lime-green gaspeite. One side has gaspeite in massive, thick form - already of high quality and a rich piece. However, the other side also features a pocket with rounded aggregates of microcrystals and crusts, taking up the upper half of this dramatic piece. This very rich, highly representative specimen is from the 132 North Nickel Mine of Western Australia.
