An EXTREMELY RICH specimen of this very rare silver species, from the classic and best locality of old Broken Hill. This piece is essentially SOLID bromian chlorargyrite! The crystals are an unusually yellowish-brownish and gemmy colorless bromian chlorargyrite. This is a rare member of the group of related silver chlorides from Broken Hill, and hard to obtain today in good crystals. These were mined in the 1940s mostly (with perhaps a trickle coming out later in the 60s?). This piece may be even older. This specimen has EXTREMELY sharp, well formed, discrete crystals, with good luster. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
