Common though Pyrite may be, there is a fraction of specimens available that is often highly desirable, and this can be counted among the top of the best. The pyritohedron crystals on this specimen have very good luster and are striated. On top of that, the crystals are modified so that many of the faces are actually curved. The largest crystal is 4.5 cm, which is substantial. There is a small amount of gentle abrasion in a very few spots, but it has little effect on the overall aesthetics, which you can see is are quite good. The piece is simply DRAMATIC
