These inclusions of octahedra of purple fluorite inside prisms of quartz were "the" hit of one of the big shows a few years back, when they arrived from Madagascar with a French dealer. They are truly a striking and not at all subtle example of this phenomenon. The purple fluorites grew on the surface of the quartz crystal during its growth, and then growth continued, engulfing them inside the quartz.
