A bizarre cabinet specimen of hematite "kindey ore" from a historic iron mine in Cumbria, England. This two-sided piece has a decidedly flowery, sculptural look to it. The lustrous, rust-red to black, elongated, hematite blades grew in multiple, diverging, fan-like clusters. A unique look for an old-time, classic specimen. Ex. Mullane Collection. Heavy at 2.4 pounds or just over a kilogram.
