This very large plate consists of nearly pristine, intergrown, lustrous, dark purple-colored fluorite crystals, to 7.9 cm across. Mined circa 1988. It is a very rare form of "spar; " this dark, almost black varietal. Because it has such high luster, it was also prized by local collectors. It is, regardless, large and very showy. 6.8 pounds in weight! RCL 1859
