This specimen came from collector Dave Stoudt, whose travels in Argentina gave him access to many unusual specimens not typically seen on the market. So while this LOOKS like an Illinois fluorite, it is actually an ARGENTINE specimen from a locality better known for rhodochrosite (the drusy quartz/chalcedony matrix is notably "different" from Illinois). The largest fluorite crystal measures 2.5 cm along the edge.
