Old classic material from the 1980s here, ex Steve Smale collection: Glassy and gemmy with a distinct blue-green body, this elbaite crystal exhibits an intense 5 mm thick red zone at the termination. The mass is 41 grams. This is a large, translucent, and very appealing crystal from the good old days of Brazil (obtained by Smale in Brazil in the late 1980s), and of a style not found often since. As a bonus, it does seem to be doubly-terminated. No repairs.
