Zincite is rare in nature, and the crystals from this mine, from the old workings, are simply the best. More than that, it is from the type locality - they were found first and best in the FRANKLIN FURNACE itself, which later grew into the larger Franklin mine. Ex Yale University Peabody Museum specimen, exchanged out some time ago and eventually landing in the George Elling Franklin Collection, from which I got this by exchange. The large crystal is nearly 2 cm. It is one of the most impressive zincites I have seen for sale or in collections because it isn't just impressive for the quality, but it is actually colorful and pretty as well as large. An important, old, specimen
