This is a very large compound crystal of deep pink, translucent ruby-corundum. There are distinct faces all the way around the specimen. You can see a number of intergrown hexagonal subcrystals of various sizes, to about 2.5 cm across. Weighs 80 grams. Very old specimen probably from the early 1900s, ex George Elling Collection.
