A bubblegum-pink tourmaline, 9.0 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm in size, rests comfortably against a quartz point to shoot into the air, in this balanced combination piece! Pink tourmalines on matrix from this region are 100 imes more rare than greens. This is an older specimen from the early 2000s, long in the collection of Napa Valley collectors and geologists, Raul and Helen Madrid. It has a special aesthetics to it that is rare in specimens of this size, though you can get nice matrix examples in smaller sizes, and sometimes bigger. This size and price range, though - it is not easy to find such pieces. No repairs, and a wonderful display all around, make this a fine piece that stands out among other tourmalines in the 4-6 inch specimen range. Photo by Joe Budd. Comes with a custom lucite base.
